You need to consider what would happen if a house or business burned down. Since the Council has willfully and intentionally caused the Fire Department to quit in mass the Town would be liable.
We have the equipment and the building to house it all and that until last Tuesday night we had the fire department personnel to fight the fire and drive the trucks to the scene of the fire. All of this we no longer have as far as personnel are concerned. Who is to fight the fire and drive the truck and operate the equipment. NO one is left to do that except for Andrew and his bride who live in Lake City. No one is left.
And it is much worse than the liability the town incurs from not having the sidewalks repaired or any of a dozen other unfunded projects that the town needs to accomplish. But don’t worry, we’ve got an amphitheater, a sidewalk to no where, a concrete park, and an attorney bill to bail Stacy out of her illegal activities.
Yes the town would have some liability, a lot of liability, if something burned down. And the Florida League of Cities wouldn’t support the town because of the willful and negligent acts of the Council. Don’t worry though. We can get the money out of the respondent superiors of the town, Rhett, Tonja, Willie and even Walter.
